About Us |
|
The Rolling Hills Folk club started to great acclaim in October 2006. The club takes its name from the Matt McGinn song The Rolling Hills of The Borders. As word has spread about the venue, singers and musicians have been eager to try out the unique acoustics of singing and playing in an oak-panelled room. There is room for about 40 people or so, which presents a more personal and intimate space in which to sing and play. We hope to encourage young and old alike whether singers or/and musicians to contribute to the evening. The Hotel offers not only accommodation but an excellent menu - making for the possibility of a complete night out with good food, songs and music and somewhere to rest your head.
The club’s first ever guests were Elsa Lemâitre and Erika Douglas followed by:- Pete Coe Fiddler’s Leap Guy Norris Linties and Stuart Miller Eilean Mor from Australia Curly and Shug Alison McMorland and Geordie McIntyre Jimmy Hutchison Ian Abernethy Habbadam from Denmark Helen Pitts and Steve Dawes and finally Ian Bruce to finish off 2007 2008 Swains’ Kitchen Roy Clinging Steve Turner Ewan McVicar Sara Grey and Kieron Means Dave Keir Ewan Wilkinson and Sandy Brechin Andy and Margaret Watchorn Craig: Morgan: Robson The Outside Track The Long Notes
